Terms of use

Last updated 30 October 2026

These terms cover the RoofHawk website and the RoofHawk app. By creating an account or paying for a plan you agree to them. If you don't agree, don't use the service.

What RoofHawk is

RoofHawk reads publicly available aerial survey imagery of New Zealand (published by Toitū Te Whenua LINZ under CC BY 4.0) and uses automated image analysis to estimate the visible condition of roofs. Subscribers get a ranked list of roofs in the suburbs they pay for, with the property address, the roof's visible condition and a score.

It is an estimate, not an inspection

A RoofHawk read is made from the air, from imagery that may be months or years old. It is not a site inspection, a building report, a survey or advice. Roofs change, imagery ages and the automated read can be wrong. Before you quote, commit to work or tell an owner anything about their roof, look at it yourself. RoofHawk accepts no liability for decisions made on a read alone.

Accounts and plans

Using the leads

Fair use

Don't attack, overload, reverse-engineer or copy the service, and don't use automated tools to pull data out of it. We can suspend accounts that do.

Availability

RoofHawk is a small New Zealand service. We aim to keep it up but make no promise of uninterrupted service, and we may change or withdraw features. Our total liability to you for anything to do with the service is limited to the fees you paid in the three months before the claim. Nothing here limits rights you have under the Consumer Guarantees Act 1993 where it applies.

Law

New Zealand law applies. Questions about these terms: [email protected].
