Coverage
32,258 roofs read so far, suburb by suburb.
Every suburb of Nelson and Richmond has been read, from Atawhai down to Brightwater and out to Māpua, off the latest LINZ flights: Nelson 2025, Tasman 2023. The rural blocks between them are next, then further out as roofers come on.
What a roofer gets
The roof, the years, and what it's made of.
Every roof that's on its way out lands in the app as a card: the photo off the flight, the same roof back through 2019, 2022 and 2023, then what it is and how bad.
Move it along from new to contacted, quoted, won or lost, and keep your notes on it. A take-off estimate opens from the same card.
- Materiallong-run iron, tile, and the rest, read off the photo
- Conditionrust, faded, scoria or sound, with how far gone
- Areathe roof's footprint in square metres
Screens from the live app, on the roof at the top of this page. The address line is cropped off here; in the app every card carries its street number.

How a scan works
A box on the map, and every roof inside it gets read.
A scan starts with a box drawn over a patch on the LINZ aerial. RoofHawk cuts out every building in it and reads each roof: rust, faded, scoria or sound. What comes back is a ranked list, worst roofs first.
One read of a flight serves every roofer in that suburb until LINZ flies it again.
